SAP Ariba Punchout Integration

Your buyer runs SAP Ariba and wants a punchout catalogue instead of static files. We connect your store to the Ariba Network with cXML punchout — setup request, live shopping, PunchOut Order Message and purchase-order automation — and test it against their real Ariba realm before go-live.

What is Ariba punchout?

An Ariba punchout catalogue lets a buyer inside SAP Ariba click your catalogue item and land directly on your ecommerce site, already logged in, seeing their contract pricing. Ariba sends your store a cXML PunchOutSetupRequest; your store replies with a StartPage URL; the buyer shops as normal; and at checkout the basket travels back into Ariba as a PunchOutOrderMessage, where it becomes a requisition in their normal approval flow.

Once approved, Ariba sends the purchase order back to your store as a cXML OrderRequest — we capture it and create the order automatically, and can return order confirmations and cXML invoices through the Ariba Network to close the loop. No CIF file maintenance, no stale prices, no rekeying.

1

PunchOutSetupRequest

The buyer clicks your punchout item in Ariba Guided Buying or classic Buying. Ariba posts a cXML PunchOutSetupRequest with their credentials to your store, which authenticates it and returns your StartPage URL.

2

Shop your live catalogue

The buyer lands on your site inside Ariba — often in an iframe — authenticated and mapped to their account, browsing live stock and contract pricing.

3

PunchOutOrderMessage

At checkout the basket is returned to Ariba as a cXML PunchOutOrderMessage and becomes a requisition, complete with your part numbers, UNSPSC codes and pricing.

4

OrderRequest & invoicing

After approval, Ariba sends a cXML OrderRequest to your store. We create the order automatically and can send ConfirmationRequest and InvoiceDetailRequest documents back through the Ariba Network.

The Ariba-specific details we handle

Ariba punchout has quirks that generic punchout builds miss. These are the ones that decide whether your integration passes the buyer’s enablement checklist first time.

Iframe operation

Many Ariba buyers open punchout sites inside an iframe. Sessions, cookies and checkout redirects all behave differently cross-domain — we make your store work correctly framed, not just full-window.

Level 1 and Level 2 punchout

Store-level (Level 1) or item-level (Level 2) punchout, where a specific catalogue line in Ariba deep-links straight to the matching product page on your store.

Ariba Network registration & testing

We work through your buyer’s enablement process — trading relationship requests, test realm validation, credential exchange — and test end-to-end against their live Ariba instance, not just a sandbox.

Multi-buyer, one build

One integration serves every Ariba customer you win. Each buyer gets their own credentials, catalogue view and contract pricing — no per-client rebuild or per-connection fees.
