Technical details
Common questions
No. Our app handles all the technical complexity. You simply add client details and share the generated URLs with your buyers.
Most merchants complete setup in under 30 minutes. Your buyers' IT teams typically configure their side within 1-2 business days.
Yes. You can configure unlimited client connections, each with their own credentials and settings. No per-client fees.
Punchout orders flow through your normal Shopify order workflow. You can process them just like any other order in your system.
Yes. Each client has isolated credentials, and all connections use encrypted HTTPS. Auto-generated unique identifiers prevent conflicts.
Our app supports SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, SAP SRM, Jaggaer, and all other major cXML and OCI-compatible procurement systems.
cXML is the XML-based protocol used by Ariba, Coupa and most cloud procurement platforms: the buyer POSTs a PunchOutSetupRequest, your store returns a session URL, and the finished basket is sent back as a PunchOutOrderMessage. OCI is the SAP standard and is simpler — the buyer opens your catalogue with a HOOK_URL parameter and the basket is returned as an HTML form POST of NEW_ITEM- fields. Our Shopify app speaks both from the same install, so you do not have to know which one a buyer uses before you say yes to them.
No. Shopify and Shopify Plus have no built-in PunchOut support, and B2B for Shopify does not cover procurement protocols. PunchOut requires an app that can accept a cXML PunchOutSetupRequest or an OCI HOOK_URL call, create an authenticated cart session, and return the basket in the format the buyer platform expects. That is what our app adds.
Their procurement team adds your catalogue as a supplier using the URL and credentials our app generates. That is a configuration step in Ariba, Coupa or SAP, not a development project — most buyer IT teams complete it in one to two business days.
Yes. Use our free PunchOut Tester to send a cXML or OCI request against your store and inspect the response before a buyer ever connects, so protocol issues surface in testing rather than in front of a customer.
